Tim Starkey works with a select group of current and retired professionals and their families as they seek to attain and/or maintain financial independence. He is particularly focused on helping business owners, corporate executives, and other successful individuals pursue the dream of a “work optional” lifestyle. In doing so, Tim helps ensure that all the pieces of his clients' financial puzzles are put together properly as their lives unfold and needs evolve.

Throughout his career, Tim has been inspired by his formative experiences at a young age that showed him the power of one-to-one relationships. Specifically, Tim went to small schools where he was taught and motivated by teachers who provided superb individual support—a life-changing experience that has served as the bedrock for Tim’s passion for delivering individualized service.

And not only does Tim provide personalized attention to clients, he is finely attuned to the individualized articulation of goals he receives from clients, each of whom is unique in his or her own right. Tim truly recognizes you are different from other investors—a real-life skill he has perfected, and not just a generic claim made for show.

Before founding Starkey Financial Partners, Tim was a financial advisor at Morgan Stanley and Merrill Lynch before that. Tim holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) and Chartered Financial Consultant® (ChFC®) designations.

Tim graduated from Lehigh University with a Bachelor of Science in Business & Economics. Remaining active with the schools he attended, Tim is on the Leadership Council, Planned Giving Committee, and a Bell Society member at Peddie School. Additionally, Tim served on the Board of Trustees of Chapin School in Princeton, NJ. Tim lives with his wife and daughter in Chatham, NJ.

Melissa Schreurs

Administrative Assistant

Melissa Schreurs has 10 years of experience providing administrative and client management support in the financial services industry. She previously worked as a case manager within the industry, serving as a liaison who ensured a smooth informational flow between advisors and clients.

Melissa’s strengths are the versatility she brings to all aspects her role, and the clarity and timeliness of how she communicates with you—the client. She understands the operational challenges that you, your family and your business encounter on a daily basis—and uses this knowledge as a guidepost for providing you with a seamless client experience.

Melissa holds an International Business degree with a minor in Spanish from UNC Charlotte.
